As we venture in to our third week of lock down across the country due to the current Pandemic sweeping the nation, the staff team are continuing to deliver exceptional daily care and engaging activities to all the residents. As we have had to restrict the visitors to Blair House and the daily outings for safety reasons, in house activities are crucial to ensuring residents remain stimulated and the days pass by with enjoyment and laughter.
Most recently, the residents within Blair House decided to put together some messages for their local community and have also placed these around the home to remind them daily of the importance of ‘staying home’ and safe during these unprecedented time.
We have also been lucky enough to have some lovely weather recently, which of course meant a garden party was on the cards! The residents had a mini sports day with garden games and also took part in a music quiz together. It was a lovely day, encouraging residents to bond and socialise whilst getting some much needed sunshine.
Many of the residents at Blair House have a passion and love for animals, as such I am sure you will have seen many photographs of their beloved lop-eared rabbit that lives in the garden in a hutch and play area designed and made by the residents themselves. The staff team also organise frequent in house visits from the local farm and zoo, in which a wide variety of animals attend the home, providing an engaging afternoon for all the residents.
Most recently, the staff organised a walk with some lovely snow white Huskies which the residents and staff absolutely loved! The Huskies were so friendly and lovable I think a few of the residents wanted to take them home with them. It was also a good opportunity for the residents to enjoy some exercise in the local park and remain active on a rare February sunny day.
